When you drink alcohol it is absorbed into the blood stream.
After approximately one hour the alcohol is distributed equally around the blood stream, as blood flows round the body around 90% of the alcohol it contains is broken down in to water and carbon dioxide by the liver in a process called oxidation. The remaining 10% of the alcohol is passed through the lungs and kidneys
When you stop drinking your level of intoxication may stay constant or if you been drinking heavily it could even increase for around 2 hours afterwards.

This catch a lot of people out as they are unaware that they can still be over the limit the morning after a night of drinking.

With the AlcoSense Pocket Breathalyser, you can do a quick test in the morning after a night of drinking to see if your over the limit or not

To activate the breathalyser all you do is slide the AlcoSense open. Once open it prepares the sensor and the screen will show a count down from 19 to 0, then it will display Blow. When it says blow, blow through the tube for approximately 5 seconds until it beeps (do not blow too hard or too soft as it will give you a error and you have to redo the test)

The AlcoSense shows you you level of intoxication in: Œºg/l (micro-grams per liter of blood) or ‚ BAC (percent of blood alcohol content) and shows your reading on the screen. It will even alert you when you are near or over the drink drive limit.
